Ramayana is set to open in cinemas on Thursday, 5 November, four days before Diwali. Trade estimates expect a day-one collection of Rs. 60-70 crore in Hindi and about Rs. 100 crore across all languages.
Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said advance bookings were very good and would rise as the release date nears. He said spot bookings could also add a big share to the final total. Trade analyst Atul Mohan said the film could earn Rs. 60-70 crore. He pointed to the Diwali timing, saying the festival raises both hype and spending. Salaried people often receive bonuses at this time, he said.
Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal said the film would collect more than Rs. 60 crore on its opening. He said the pre-Diwali period is usually weak for the box office, so the early date shows the makers' confidence. He also said the film could touch Rs. 100 crore on 9 November, the day after Diwali, but not on release day.

A separate report said advance bookings had crossed Rs. 100 crore gross worldwide. It said the film was releasing globally and that bookings in the Telugu states were strong. SVC Releases is handling the release in the region. That report said a Rs. 150 crore gross opening day looked achievable, but it added that actual collections would depend on how the film performs after release.
Why the date matters
Recent big releases have often aimed for the day after Diwali, which is a public holiday. Filmmakers have seen large openings on that day. Earlier releases in the pre-Diwali slot have faced a slow start. A report recalled that Krrish 3 (2013) and Housefull 4 (2019) both earned more after their first few days. Ramayana's makers have chosen to go against that pattern.
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Namit Malhotra and Yash back the project through Prime Focus Studios, Monster Mind Creations and DNEG. Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman composed the music. It releases in multiple languages and formats, including IMAX.
What is not yet known
The trade figures are estimates, not final numbers. Collections will only be known once the film has run for several days. The sources do not say how many screens or shows the film will have on its opening day.
