Aadarsha Kutumbam
Aadarsha Kutumbam, a Telugu action-comedy drama starring Venkatesh, has taken in ₹41.15 crore net in its first seven days, according to box office figures reported by two outlets. The film's collections dropped steeply after its opening weekend.
The film opened with ₹9.75 crore net on day 1 and ₹10.4 crore on day 2, then rose slightly to ₹11.25 crore on day 3. Earnings fell to ₹3.4 crore on day 4, ₹2.6 crore on day 5, ₹2.1 crore on day 6 and ₹1.65 crore on day 7. The day 7 figure is a Thursday total, and it was 21.43% lower than day 5. The gross collection is put at ₹48.56 crore.
A sharp fall from the opening weekend
One outlet said occupancy had dropped below 50% after the first weekend. It said the film had decent word of mouth but failed to keep audiences coming. The same outlet said that shows had been significantly reduced. Neither report gave a figure for the film's total cost beyond the budget noted below.

The film is compared with Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Venkatesh's previous release, which earned ₹122 crore net in its first seven days in India. Aadarsha Kutumbam has earned about 66% less than that in the same period. One outlet put the film's budget at more than ₹120 crore, and said the opening-week figures point to a heavy loss for the makers.
The film has a star hero and a popular director, Trivikram, which had raised expectations. Venkatesh was returning to the big screen after his previous hit, so the weak response has disappointed the team.
Competition from new releases
The film is facing strong competition. Ramayana is currently dominating theatres, and Suriya's Scene has also arrived. One outlet said this competition is likely to grow in the coming days and could reduce the film's audience further.
For moviegoers in India, the figures show how quickly a film's earnings can fall when new releases take over screens. Neither source has reported the film's final total, and it is not yet known how long it will stay in theatres.
