Suriya's new film Scene has crossed ₹4 crore in advance bookings across India, less than a day after its ticket sales opened. The Jithu Madhavan directorial, which also stars Nazriya Nazim and Naslen, is set to release in the coming days.
As of 4 November at 10 am, the film had collected ₹4.14 crore in India. Tamil Nadu contributed ₹2.05 crore and Kerala ₹1.60 crore. Karnataka brought in ₹30 lakh and the Telugu states ₹15 lakh. Overseas advance sales were put at $325K, or ₹3.1 crore, taking the worldwide total to ₹7.25 crore. Trade experts said about 2.37 lakh tickets had sold across 2,528 shows in more than 500 theatres. More shows are expected to open before release.
Competition on screen
Scene will face strong rivals. In the North it clashes with Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana: Part 1, and in Tamil Nadu it meets Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman 2. Suriya's film has yet to lead the South box office.

The film is Suriya's third release of 2026. His other two releases this year were Karuppu and Vishwanath & Sons. Scene casts him in a role that differs sharply from those films. Jithu Madhavan previously directed the Malayalam blockbuster Aavesham, released in 2024.
Nazriya Nazim returns to Tamil cinema after a 12-year gap, and this is her first film opposite Suriya. Speaking at the Kerala pre-release event, she said she had not turned down three earlier Suriya films and that date clashes and scheduling caused her absences. She said she had waited for the right script.
For Indian moviegoers, the release timing matters. Scene opens over the Diwali weekend, a peak period for cinema attendance, and its screen count will depend on how many theatres are freed up from the Ramayana clash. Ticket prices and show timings are not yet reported.
It is not yet clear how audiences will respond. Pre-release buzz is described as decent, but the screen crunch could limit the film's reach.
