Chadha described the track as humming, curious, sometimes mischievous and sometimes lullaby-like. She called Khanwalkar a close friend and said she would find a soundtrack for any of India's thousand stories.
The two have worked together before. Khanwalkar was the composer on Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Chadha's first film as an actor. She also contributed a song to Girls Will Be Girls, Chadha's first film as a producer.
Khanwalkar praised Chadha as an independent voice. She said Chadha had brought her journalistic training to Musafiri, which she described as an engaging show that takes viewers through landscapes they have seen often but not known deeply.
It is not yet known when Musafiri will be released or on which platform it will stream.
