Apple reportedly plans three new iPads and an OLED iPad Air for 2027

Apple is reportedly preparing to launch three new iPad models in the first half of 2027. The reports come from a Bloomberg journalist, Mark Gurman, and from another outlet that cites his Power On newsletter. Apple has not confirmed any of the plans.

The expected lineup includes an iPad Air with an OLED screen. Apple recently released the iPad mini (2026), its first non-Pro model with an OLED display. One report says the iPad Air could get the same screen upgrade. Gurman has also said Apple is preparing a low-end tablet. Earlier rumours suggest the base model, called the iPad 12, could use an A19 chip.

The reports also point to new laptops. Gurman said the second-generation touchscreen MacBook Pro OLED could use M7 Pro and M7 Max chips, along with new AI hardware. He also said Apple is planning an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M7 chip. Its design would be thinner, with slimmer bezels, and it could replace the M6 model. That model has a non-OLED, non-touch screen and costs Rs 2,39,900. The OLED versions cost Rs 3,49,900.

The pattern fits Apple's recent habit of moving its screens to OLED. The company has added OLED displays across its iPad and MacBook Pro lines over the past year. Apple announced several devices last month, including the MacBook Pro OLED.

For buyers in India, the price gap between the M6 MacBook Pro and the OLED version is large. If the entry-level M7 model arrives as reported, it could offer a cheaper route into Apple's newer laptop designs. The reports do not give Indian prices for any of the new models.

Apple has not announced dates for any of these devices, and the details could change before launch. Neither Apple nor Gurman has confirmed the iPad specifications or the exact models.
