India head coach Gautam Gambhir on Sunday described his team's T20 international series win over New Zealand as "incredible". India took the series 3-2.
Gambhir said the side's hard-hitting, clinical style helped it overcome a shortage of time to prepare. The team had little practice ahead of the matches in New Zealand, and Gambhir said the squad's aggressive mindset filled that gap.
The series included a successful chase of 226, one of the biggest targets in T20 cricket. India also hunted down 199 in less than 14 overs. Several younger players stepped up in pressure situations.
The result comes after a period of change for the Indian side. Gambhir has been building a squad that plays with a fearless approach in the shortest format of the game.
It is not yet known what India's next T20 fixtures will be or who will be selected for them.
