Lewis Hamilton has criticised his Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc after the two drivers clashed at the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix, a clash that handed Max Verstappen the win.
Hamilton qualified in pole position at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, with Leclerc lining up in third. George Russell lost momentum into Turn 1, and Hamilton rose to second. Leclerc then attacked Hamilton on the opening lap. Both drivers went off the track at Turn 4, and Verstappen took advantage to claim the race.
Hamilton said Leclerc had a "do or die" attitude. He later said he was "not going to be silenced" over the incident. Hamilton said Ferrari still needs further talks to settle how its drivers race each other.
Hamilton has also backed claims that Leclerc races him harder than he races drivers from rival teams. The seven-time world champion said the issue needs to be dealt with inside the team.
The result cost Ferrari a race it had been well placed to win. Hamilton started from pole, and the team had a clear chance to finish first and second.
Ferrari has not said whether it will announce new team orders or rules for its drivers. Leclerc's full response to Hamilton's comments is not yet known.
